1. What do we collect?

When you use or sign up to the Bringing Skills to life website, we collect information that will be used to fulfil the administration of your account and website. In order for us to do so, we will require the following information:

  • First name, Surname and email address and whether you are a teacher, parent or Partner.
  • URL you entered the site from, IP address, browser type, country and telephone area code related to your computer
  • Information on how you use the website and any searches performed on our website.

We will use the above information to maintain the Bringing Skills to life website and to improve our products and services to you.

2. What do we do with your information?

We also capture your personal information for the following purposes:

  • For statistical or survey purposes
  • To administer this website;
  • If you consent, to notify you of new content, new lessons or competitions that may be of interest to you.

By providing your details and creating an account you are agreeing to receive information from The John Lewis Partnership by post, e-mail or telephone, about content related to the schools’ programme which we feel may be of interest to you. In the event that you do not wish to be contacted for such purposes you may unsubscribe from our contact list at any time by replying to a Bringing Skills to Life e-mail with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject line or by e-mailing us at bringingskillstolife@hopscotchconsulting.co.uk.

3. How long we keep your information

When we collect or process your personal information, we will ensure that we only retain it for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was originally collected. At the end of that retention period, your data will either be deleted completely or anonymised, for example by aggregation with other data so that it can be used in a non-identifiable way for statistical analysis and business planning.

4. Who is collecting and using your information?

John Lewis Partnership is the Data Controller for your data. We will share your information with our group of companies for the purposes set out in this privacy notice. We will share your data with our trusted third-parties, who will help us administer the website. We will not release your Personal Information to any company outside of the John Lewis Partnership (which includes John Lewis & Partners, Waitrose & Partners, John Lewis Insurance and John Lewis Financial Services) for them to use for their mailing or marketing purposes. You should be aware that if we are requested by the police or any other regulatory or government authority investigating suspected illegal activities to provide your Personal Information and /or User Information, we are entitled do so.

5. Access to your information and your rights

Upon request, we shall provide you with timely access to your personal information contained in records under our control and to have that information sent to you in a common format.
